If you’ve looked out your window or had to get up early this morning to go to work, you probably found drizzle coming down. The rain has reached Southern California. And, although it’s not coming down hard or a lot, it is much needed and welcome here.
Having grown up in the Western New York area right outside of Buffalo, I never thought I’d miss the cloudy, dreary days of spring. Actually, most of the year is pretty cloudy back home.
However, moving to Long Beach over 29 years ago, I’ve had plenty of time to soak up the sun and take advantage of everything the energy of Southern California has to offer. So, I’m pretty content any time clouds cover the area and rain drops are felt. Especially in the persistent drought that we’ve been having for the past 7 years.
Enjoy The Rain While It Lasts
According to the weather service, we will see the “wet stuff” through tomorrow, Saturday, April 9, 2016. The cooler weather however is going to stick around for the rest of the week as we ease our way into Spring.
Based on what I see the East Coast going through at this point, I’m not complaining.
Enjoy the wet weather while you can. Based on my last 28 years here in California, I’m confident we will be returning the the warm dry weather we experience about 96% of the year very soon.
